Stage 3 students had their first Interrelate session this week. 

Year 5 learnt about the word consent, what it means and what it looks like. They also discussed what respect means and how healthy relationships are based on it. The last part of the Year 5 session involved looking at the changes that male and female bodies go through as they enter puberty. 

Year 6 explored the concepts of individuality, uniqueness and diversity. They learnt about body parts including reproductive systems of the male and female bodies, protective behaviours, personal safety and appropriate hygiene practices.

Parents and carers are encouraged to discuss the above concepts with their child. Student booklets will be handed out after all three sessions for further guidance and support with these discussions at home.
